Yummy Belly Gastronomic Review

Last week, I had an opportunity to visit the grand opening of Devour Food Hub in Quezon City. One stall really made a mark on me because of their catchy and fun name – Yummy Belly. The brand was conceptualized by Eduardo Paez Jr. and partner, Patrick Andrew Dinong. The goal of the food business is to provide a festive vibe to each meal served.

I had a chance to try some of their best sellers. Here are some of the photos during my visit:

Lechon Pork Belly with side salad, vinaigrette and gravy

The lechon pork belly was one of the first meals I tried during my visit. I really like the crispiness of the skin as well as the tenderness of the meat. It was not oily and not too heavy. It was complemented with a nice toss of side salad with homemade vinaigrette and local gravy. Apart from the side, fresh fruits in the form of watermelon was served. Isn’t it refreshing? My verdict? An ACE!

Buttermilk Fried Chicken with mixed vegetables and gravy

I tried the Buttermilk Fried Chicken next. It was a unique twist to your usual fried chicken. The chicken was well cooked and it was paired with a small cup of mixed vegetables to make the plate more lively. My score? I’ll give it a HIT.

Dinakdakan: The Ilocano Sisig

Lastly, I tried the Dinakdakan or the Ilocano Sisig. It uses grilled or fried pig parts such as ears, mascara (face), liver and brain. In their version, they added left over lechon belly to add crispy touch to it. It was paired with fresh seasoned fruits (watermelon) and side salad with freshly made vinaigrette. It may be spicy or sweet & sour. This version was a bit spicy. It was really tasty. It was one of my favorites as it features a classic Filipino dish with a twist. My verdict? An ACE of course!

I can really recommend Yummy Belly as a food stop in Devour Food Hub. I can’t wait to go back and try their other signature dishes. Please check out this space for more updates.
