This year, AYDA PH’s theme entitled FORWARD: AMPLIFYING EMPATHY THROUGH DESIGN focused on providing not only a framework for the hardware aspects of space; the participants were also required to think about how people would interact with the software of the space. It was evident that there was a massive paradigm shift from constructing a building to developing a city for communities. The focus of design has awakened aesthetics to a deeper level of emotional understanding for the needs of the people. Designers were required to make essential decisions to maximize the commercial value while protecting the important aspects of nature.
