Are you living in a small apartment but don’t like to feel that constantly? So, keep on reading. There’s no contradiction about small spaces, as they are trending because of their minimalist approach, and they save lots of bucks.
Of course, you can’t magically make your place big, but some decor mistakes can make the apartment look even tinier. So, avoid those mistakes and invest in intelligent and functional decor.
For many people, tiny house living is a dreamy concept. So, let’s have a look at how you can decorate these beautiful houses.
Choose the Right Palette
The decoration of the house starts from the right colors. But, the colors practically can make your place very happening or very confusing. So, to be safe, choose neutral and light shades.
One exceptional idea is to merge the bulky furniture with walls by painting them the same. This cuts the partition and gives a spotless look. You can try other shades too, but don’t add too many colors to the space.
Add Character with Wall Arts
The layering of walls with wall arts is very crucial to add character to your home. The home shouldn’t look like some rental space; instead, you should embrace the place and your decision.
So line up your favorite memories and choose custom canvas prints for your wall. You can print your beloved family photos on canvas and create a grid or invest in split canvas. Explore all the ideas and create the perfect display from different styles and sizes of premium, affordable and durable canvas.
Get Functional with Furniture
You can increase storage and hide all the stuff perfectly by introducing intelligent storage solutions. For example, go for study tables, beds, or any height furniture and install pull-out drawers on them. The double-duty furniture will hide away all your stuff and give a more organized look.
Get Creative Shelves
For perfect storage solutions, you must invest in skinny and tall storage. Likewise, one of the best options is floating and ledge shelves.
You can merge the color of the wall with shelves and place books, small house plants, or essentials on it. Get creative and introduce smart, sleek wall shelving with different patterns and designs.
Go for Low-Level Furniture
The science behind the illusion is fascinating. Create an illusion of a tall ceiling and a larger space with low-level furniture.
Sofas, tables, beds with slightly lower heights can make them look less bulky and make your ceilings appear tall. So, crack this hack when you’re buying the furniture.
The Right Window Treatment
Light is crucial for any space. Likewise, go for large windows as the light will brighten up the area. In addition, it makes your place look more prominent and happy.
Don’t hang your curtains too low. Instead, mount the curtain significantly above the window. This will give an illusion of a taller ceiling and doesn’t make your space look minimal.
Store Stuff at Unexpected Places
Yes, store stuff in the steps of stairs and go for intelligent flooring. But, of course, you read it correctly. You can make pull-out drawers in each step of the stair for additions and convenient storage.
Also, you can raise a podium in the flooring with wooden panels in one section. Finally, install pull-out drawers or just flab doors to store bulky things on the floor.
Use of Attractive Glass and Mirrors
Want to conceal your table a bit? Go for glass tables on the front couch and side tables. They don’t add extra colors and look magnificent in small places.
Add layering and brightness with mirrors. Place a leaning mirror or mount a large wall mirror. It reflects light on darker areas and creates an illusion of ample space. In addition, both glass and mirror look gorgeous and attractive.
Use Mounted Lights
Ofcourse, walls and ceiling lights go with tiny spaces. You may wish to place floor or table lamps, but they will only increase clutter in your area. So, go for an equally superb option like ceiling concealed LED lights or single hanging pendant light over the dining area.
You can also mount wall sconces on either side of the bed. The rule is to always go for space-saving bright lighting. They look gorgeous and don’t steal away your space.
Let’s Wrap it
The takeaway from the article is to invest in concealed and intelligent storage. Add storage wherever you can. Get minimal with decoration, but make it enjoyable with wall arts, lights, mirrors, and shelves.
Tiny houses are trending nowadays because of their minimal approach and teach you how to sustain happiness in a limited space. Therefore, many people are opting for this option and investing the saved money in exploring the world.
Many people have suddenly realized the importance of other values. So, “Go big or go home” doesn’t feel good anymore, as you can go small and still enjoy every bit of it.
