Fresh Salmon Selections from Salmon HQ

Salmon, a tender, reddish fish is one of my most favorite seafood in any menu. It has a very firm, rich, subtle buttery flavor. Did you know that a small serving of salmon around 100 grams is about 200 calories. It’s a great source of protein and very low in saturated fat. It also contains abundant amounts of vitamin D, vitamin B12, potassium and iron.

How do you like your salmon? I like it as sashimi!

Recently, I discovered Salmon HQ which provides vast array of delectable selections of salmon renditions. From sushi bake to sashimi, name it, they got it! I was fortunate enough to try several of their offerings.

Can’t decide? Why not try them all?
It’s perfect for any occasion! I would definitely order soon.

Premium Salmon Cake

This really got me so excited! It was really fun seeing fresh salmon sashimi piled in a floral cake form. Apart from its neat and intricate placements, it was secured with transparent holder to properly hold it. Before you try it, prepare some wasabi and soy sauce on the side. Add calamansi if needed. Personally, I added some calamansi and a little bit of pepper. That’s how I like my sashimi. It was so delicate and it just melts in your mouth. A bit firm but a bit less buttery so you really have to season the sauce to give flavor to it. Overall, I’m happy with this one. It’s a HIT for me.

Seafood Wafu Pasta

If you’re a frequent reader of my blog, you know that I love pasta especially tomato-based ones. I was able to try Seafood Wafu Pasta which contains spaghetti, scallops, shrimp and salmon tossed in an umami soy butter glaze. I’m in love with its presentation however it can use some salt and pepper. The scallops and shrimps are both cooked nicely however the salmon was a bit overdone. Otherwise, it was fantastic overall. I’ll give it an AVERAGE score. If it had a bit more spices, it was surely a HIT for me.

Would you be enticed by this pasta?

Sushi Bakes

The pandemic saw a rise of different food trends such as dalgona coffee, ube cheese pandesal and sushi bakes. Speaking of sushi bakes, I have tried several ones and I feel Salmon HQ’s edge would be the use of freshest ingredients. All of the sushi bakes work well with nori and it’s well seasoned. For instance, Baked Crunchy California Maki Sushi Bake contains the typical ingredients for California maki (my fave!) like mangoes and kani. It’s the right balance of sweet and savory flavor. The added crunch on top gives a different texture from the smooth combination of mangoes and kani.

In my opinion, Aburi Salmon Scallops Ebi Sushi Bake and Uni Scallops Aburi Sushi Bake are both so savory thus you need to really wash it down with the sweetness of the Baked Crunchy California Maki Sushi Bake. Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the taste of the sushi bakes. I’ll give Baked Crunchy California Maki Sushi Bake an ACE (it’s really good, I’m telling you!) and the rest with HIT.

One of the key advantages of ordering your salmon at Salmon HQ is that it is guaranteed fresh delivered at your doorsteps. You may use your preferred delivery services such as Grab, Foodpanda or Lalamove. It’s not too expensive too. If you’re looking to break your old habit of eating the same viand daily or simply gearing towards a healthier option, I think ordering it as your comfort food would be great! I would order it honestly once or twice a month especially on special occasions.
